Seen is a concept. There is no app yet, so the only personal data this site handles is your email address if you join the waitlist, plus what any web server sees when you visit.

The waitlist
When you join, we store your email address, the consent text you agreed to ("Email me when Seen is available.") with its version, the time you signed up and the time you confirmed. The links in our emails carry random codes; we only store a scrambled version of them (a hash).
We use this for one thing: to send you one email when Seen is available. Before that, you only get the email asking you to confirm your address (double opt-in). If you don't confirm, you get nothing else.
Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Giving your email is voluntary; without it you can't join the waitlist, nothing else changes.
Protection against abuse
To limit how often one connection can sign up, we keep a scrambled version (hash) of your IP address for at most 24 hours. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the waitlist free of spam and abuse, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Visiting the site
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect them from attacks, Cloudflare processes connection data such as your IP address, browser and the page requested. We do not run analytics or tracking, set no cookies and load no third-party scripts or fonts. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in a working, secure website.
Service providers
- Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) hosts the site and the waitlist database (stored in the EU) and sends our emails. For sending, Cloudflare processes your email address, the content of the email and delivery data such as time and delivery status.
Cloudflare works for us under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). Data may be processed in the USA. Cloudflare takes part in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and its agreement includes the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. The transfer safeguards are in Cloudflare's Data Processing Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted automatically 7 days after the last confirmation email.
- Confirmed addresses are kept until we have sent the launch email, and deleted at the latest on 31 December 2027.
- If you unsubscribe, your entry is deleted from our waitlist database right away.
- Cloudflare keeps delivery records for sent emails (address, time, delivery status) for up to 31 days.
- Scrambled IP addresses for abuse protection are deleted after at most 24 hours.
Your rights
You can withdraw your consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to us; this does not affect anything we did before. You have the right to access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Bavarian authority (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht, Ansbach).
We make no automated decisions about you.
